A Prospering Update

Choosing the word Prosperity for my word of the year has been creating some excitement.  I have been examining the things I do each day.  If they don't lead to feelings of fulfillment I have begun eliminating them.
As a result, I have given notice that I am leaving a teaching job that I have held for 5 years.  Only three weeks of classes remain.  As soon as I gave notice new students began signing up for the classes in my home studio. I was also offered a trip to France in exchange for a painting.

This was a great reminder that we need to create room for the things we really want in our lives.  If we keep doing the same things each day we can expect to have more of the same.  Travel to foreign places to paint is on my wish list and vision board.  And so the adventure has begun.

I painted the Iris painting below this spring shortly after it bloomed in my yard.  It is an oil on 300lb. watercolor paper.  It has been purchased already.  Painting this was pure enjoyment.  Selling it was a bonus.  For me a prosperous life includes lots of time to paint and some travel.  What does prosperity look like to you?

Manifesting class

If you joined my class on manifesting, which begins this coming Saturday January 26, then by this time next week you would be practicing some new meditations and would be clearing your energy everyday.
You would be noticing what changes your vibration levels and would know what to do about it. More importantly you would know what not to do about it.
You would also have worked on refining exactly what you are manifesting and you'd know why this is a fluid process especially in the beginning.
You would be collecting images for your vision board which we will create the following Saturday.  These will be collected from magazines, photos and the internet.
You would have a greater understanding affirmations and how to use them for greatest benefit.
You would be thinking about creating your"most ideal life" and really taking time to feel that life through visualizations.
You would be discovering the importance of our thought processes and how powerful gratitude is.
You would be on your way to a non dual way of thinking and living.
At the very least you would have made some new friends, had a great time and most likely would be feeling happier.

If any of this appeals to you then you might want to consider joining my class for this six week adventure.  I am offering it a huge reduction to celebrate and to put into action my word for the year which is PROSPERITY.  I am prospering in every area and want to share this with others.
The class will be held at my home in the south Denver area.  The fee is $97. (you can pay in 3 installments if necessary)  The first class is from 9:30 to 12:30 next Saturday January 26.  Registrations close Thursday night.

I am so excited to see what wonderful changes will result in the lives of all who participate and even the "spill over" effect.  It's a fun adventure. If you would like to sponsor someone who can't afford it right now I have a non profit way for you to donate that gift.

Prospering

It's still in the first half of January 2013 and I am mulling over what I would like to see transpire this year.  Certainly my word for the year says it all.  I want to prosper in every way, physically, spiritually, as an artist, a teacher and yes financially.  I'd also like to see everyone I know and those I haven't met yet prosper as well.

Last year I chose the word FLOW as my directional focus.  I chose FLOW because SYNCRONICITY seemed too long.  I wanted to be aware of intuitive hits, coincidence and to be led by energy flow.  I certainly did experience this but FLOW had several laughs at me as well.  Blocked drains ,a  leaking refrigerator water dispenser, leaking hot water heaters, leaking dish washers and the biggie a $1000 bill from the water company all came my way.  If anyone doubt the power of our intentions and focus take note here.

It has recently been brought to my attention that I am a good manifest-or and know a thing or two about it.  I admit I have studied under some of the best through the years.  So as a way of prospering and helping others to do the same I am offering a 6 week course which will include hands on exercises and plenty of helpful techniques.  Since energy is amplified by numbers we will all benefit by working together.

This course will begin on Saturday January 26 and will meet each Saturday(except for Feb.16) ending with March 9.  The first two classes will be the longest from 9:30 til 12:30.  The rest will be much shorter 9:30 to 10:30.  Are you willing to commit 10 hours toward realizing your goals and intentions this year?  We will meet at my home which is near Littleton.  The charge for this type of class would normally be $250 but I am reducing this to $97 because I want us all to prosper this year. If you would like to sponsor someone who can't afford to attend you can make a donation to my non profit organization.

Contact me for more information regarding this class and enrollment.  Let's all make a leap of faith and growth and let's do it together.

House sitting with Tar

This is the Christmas tree I enjoyed this Holiday season.  Don't you love the creativity of it?   Tar, who is one of my favorite dogs in the whole universe kept me company during the snow storm.  It was quite a change of pace.

December Gilr's Night Out

Such beautiful paintings this month.  We were fewer in number but had a great time creating together.  A couple of these paintings were given as gifts this Christmas to some very fortunate mothers.  I bet they were some surprised mothers too.  I'm working on the January painting now.  Will post soon

Kid's art class

Here are three versions of Monet's Japanese Footbridge.  All painted in watercolor by  delightful and delighted students.  They learned the wet in wet method which really set them free.  The other beginning lesson was in perspective.  Good perspective is one of the major problems my adult student's struggle with.  These kids got the idea pretty quickly.  My favorite quote of the class was hearing a 5 year old boy say "Wouldn't it be fun to live in this painting?"  I hope he keeps that playful attitude as he matures.

Gelatin Printmaking

This is the Wednesday morning art class. or at least those who were able to make it today.  What a messy fun time we had.  The energy runs high during this printmaking process.  It feels quite addictive.  One idea sparks another. We use acrylic paint which layers really nicely.
Yesterday I made the gelatin plates by  mixing 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin to  each cup of water.  The plates are a little over an inch deep.  I chose foil loaf pans for my molds. My recipe for a loaf pan is 2 and 2/3 cups of water to 6 envelopes of gelatin.  These set up overnight and felt quite strong.
Paint is applied with a brayer and then textures are created or paper stencils are cut to create interest.  We are careful to preserve the surface of the plate.
We used three different printmaking papers for variety.  Masa paper which is a nice inexpensive Japanese paper, Rives BFK (the pricey one) and Canson for a mid price range.  These plates will last another two weeks.  I am looking forward to seeing what they create on their own during the week.
